Why are humans never content ?

Satisfaction, content, fulfillment. What do these three simple but important words mean to you ?

 

 

 

Before you answer close your eyes and think really hard what do they mean. Most probably your answer will be that for us to be always happy, content, satisfied and fulfilled in your life you always have to be happy in life but the truth is that humans can never be content. Never and i mean never !! Why you ask me, well the answer is quite simple . It is because we as humans always crave something new to fill us with excitement and take away our boredom.  Also it is because it is human nature for us to be always curious. We are always asking questions, like do aliens exist? Is God really, who they say he is ?. The thing is that when we ask these kind of questions, we do not always get an answer and that is what frustrates us the most.

We will always feel , that even tough we have a lot we have that one thing missing in our life. Human’s by nature are always greedy, even if we do not realize it at times. We do not know when enough is enough, when the thing that is most precious to us is lost, that is when greed has taken over. So be thankful for what you have now, because it can be lost in a split of a second, and you end up blaming yourself and the ones around you. 

One day I was on the bustop, waiting for the bus to come over as per the daily routine, I overheard two elderly people complaining in there own funny way that life is to stressful, that they cannot do most of the things that they would do when they where younger and by the end of the day they end up being frustrated at themselves as they did not achieve there targets for the day. In reality to this , deep down we will know that all goals cannot be achieved, the problem is that some of us cannot seem to accept that and we end up being more stressed and frustrated. 

Now a day we live in a society where we believe that the more stuff we have the happier we will be , hence the saying ” the more the merrier” how sad that sounds when in reality the most precious things in life are absolutely free. 

The Urge to please other will never stop , the sad thing about it is sometimes the people we are trying to impress are just the same as you and me.  Sometimes by trying to be something we are not, we are just trying to justify our low self esteem and we can never get any satisfaction out of it.

From my point of view, I believe that humans can never be really content. Still we can build a positive attitude for the world around us, that makes us feel free and satisfied. We do this by setting goals for ourselves in order to keep ourselves fulfilled in the long run. Only you can chose what is the best path for you in life.

You just need to live for the moment, and just appreciate the little things in life and what is around you.
